Ada Choi apologises for divorce joke

2 Apr – Ada Choi became a subject of criticism recently when she announces her divorce as a part of her April Fools' Day prank.

According to HK Channel, on 1 April, the actress made a surprising announcement on Facebook, saying, "I just found out that my husband didn't love me at all. I want to tell everyone that we have decided to get a divorce."

"Farewell, Max Zhang. We would like to apologise to our loved ones. Sorry!"

When asked to clarify the issue, Ada's manager explained that it was only an April Fools' joke, though admitted that it went a bit too far.

"I have asked her not to do it again. I am so sorry. She will not do that again," said her manager.

The actress has also turned to her social media account to explain the situation.

"It's April Fools' Day. Max Zhang, I was wrong. Forgive me. I would like to apologise to my loved ones and to my manager as well. I'm sorry to my media friends. Anyway, Happy April Fools' Day!"
