Adam Sandler grew up dreaming that Al Pacino would be “infatuated with his lady side”.
The funnyman plays advertising executive Jack and dons ladies’ attire to play Jack’s twin sister Jill in the movie Jack and Jill.
The comedy also stars Adam’s childhood hero Al, who plays himself.
In one scene, Al attempts to seduce Jill by inviting her to his lavish mansion and the pair enjoy a dance together.
Adam says his life-long ambition has been to dress as a woman and impress Al with his dance moves.
“This was a goal since I saw, what movie was it, Serpico. I was watching it with my father and I said to him, ‘You see that bearded man daddy? One day I am going to get him so infatuated with my lady side.’ And I did it,” he told UK television show Daybreak.
Adam thoroughly enjoyed getting into costume to play Jill.
In fact, even though he has finished work on the movie, he still likes to put on women’s clothing at home.
“I do have little Jill parties every month,” he quipped. “I will dress up and you know, my wife and I do what we do as Jill and she enjoys it.”
Adam’s co-star Katie Holmes was also impressed with his performance as a female.
She was full of praise for Sandler’s ability to convincingly portray a member of the opposite sex.
“I think he did a great job maintaining his own masculinity when we weren’t rolling. But then once the cameras did start rolling, I thought he brought such a great quality to Jill, a charm and wonderful femininity and I loved the physicality, because she really looked like a woman,” Katie explained.
