Adele, Bon Iver hold top spots in Last.fm singles chart

English singer-songwriter Adele's record-breaking hit "Rolling in the Deep" maintains its grip on the number one spot in the Last.fm international singles chart the week of July 3. Other top acts in the top ten are pop star Lady Gaga and indie act Bon Iver.

Bon Iver claims four spots in the week's chart thanks to the success of the band's just-released self-titled sophomore album, which has so far peaked at number four in the UK album chart and number two on the US chart.

This week, the lead single, "Calgary," slips two spots from last week to tenth place, with 22,793 listeners, while the tracks "Perth" (with 24,920 listeners) and "Holocene" (23,819 listeners) drop to fourth and sixth places, respectively. In 2008, the Wisconsin-based band, fronted by singer Justin Vernon, released its debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago, which was also critically acclaimed, making a number of critics' best albums of the year lists.

Adele's smash-hit "Rolling in the Deep" had 44,053 listeners this week compared to 43,935 listeners last week. Other tracks in the top ten from her sophomore album, 21, include "Set Fire to the Rain," with 25,335 listeners and "Someone Like You" with 23,113 listeners.
