Agent: David Villa could return from injury in April

Barcelona forward David Villa could return to action in the next two months, according to one of his representatives.

The 30-year-old sustained a fractured leg in the Club World Cup in December and has been in a race against time to regain full fitness before the Euro 2012 finals.

"It will depend on his recovery, but I think that at the end of April we will see him playing again," Victor Onate, general director of VOS Marketing, the company which represents Villa, told Canal 9.

"David is great. Although people may find it strange, he is working harder than ever, even when he could play.

"He is very focused on returning as quickly as possible."

This means that the Spain international may resume full training in time for the visit of Real Madrid, on April 22.

Villa, who joined Barca in 2010 after a five-year spell at Valencia, has scored nine goals in 24 appearances this season.

Since November, Goal.com has been publishing exclusive extracts from Graham Hunter's highly-anticipated new book, 'Barca: The Making of the Greatest Team in the World'. The very last extract looks at Andres Iniesta's risky return from injury in the 2009 Champions League Final and how he was described by Wayne Rooney as the 'best midfielder in the world'. Don't miss it!
