Last night saw the launch of Eau Provocateur, the latest fragrance offering from Agent Provocateur. The event took place at The Rose Club, London’s newest speakeasy members bar in the heart of Marylebone. It was a suitably decadent setting for a very glamorous brand launch: the current Agent Provocateur perfumes are so successful because they offer seductive scents in award-winning, exceptionally beautiful bottles. There were also three models wearing pieces from the latest Agent Provocateur collections, each representing one of the new fragrances (while these girls might be devastatingly beautiful, handbag.com can also confirm that one of them was modelling by night, finishing her BA Hons History degree at UCL by day.)
We spoke to Maxine Johone-Smith, who helped to develop the concept for the new Eau Provocateur fragrance collection. She explained how Agent Provocateur wanted to retain the elements of their signature perfumes: Maitresse, L’Agent and the original Agent Provocateur Eau de Parfum, but to capture the essential notes of those fragrances in daywear perfumes. The classic fragrances are sensual and romantic, but also heady and ‘designed with the boudoir in mind’, according to Maxine. The new Eau Provocateur eau de toilette infusions are designed to make those scents lighter and even more playful, while still offering the distinctive AP character.
Agent Provocateur ‘Eau Provocateur’ is a beautiful fresh floral, perfect for fans of the original AP fragrance. It has sparkling citrus and orange flower notes, with a base of myrhh and vanilla for a sensual, lingering scent. Agent Provocateur L’Agent ‘Eau Provocateur’ is light, with delicate fruit-based notes, including apple, mandarin, melon and peach, teamed with a floral heart of rose and jasmine and a base of musk, patchouli and amber crystals. It’s a really pretty, modern and sophisticated scent. Agent Provocateur Maitresse ‘Eau Provocateur’ is a delicious combination of rose, iris and jasmine, with generous Granny Smith apple notes and a amber, sandalwood and tonka bean base. This is a very interesting scent which reveals all its different elements over the course of the day.
The three elements of the Eau Provocateur collection have been given their own look, with unique degrade colour bottles. They are also available for a lower price than the original AP fragrances, making it possible for even more fans to wear their favourite brand.
Eau Provocateur will be available from 15th April 2012, each 50ml bottle priced £39.99
