Alec Baldwin fears for his daughter because of Hollywood’s obsession with looks.
The actor and his ex-wife Kim Basinger have 16-year-old Ireland together. Alec hopes she grows up to be a confident woman who understands appearances aren’t the most important thing in the world.
“I'm afraid of the mentality in Los Angeles. I don’t like the women who hang around with Ireland,” he told Italian magazine Tu Style.
“In LA the girls are obsessed with staying young forever: they use plastic surgery with the hope of going back in time and at the end their faces are really weird!
“They don’t have the same sense of style as Europeans, who remain attractive over the years thanks to the culture. It makes me fear for her future.”
Alec is engaged to yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas and they are rumoured to be planning to marry in the next few weeks.
The 54-year-old actor knew Hilaria was the woman for him as soon as he set eyes on her.
“Now Hilaria is in my life, my life is full. I met her at a restaurant. She was at a table, I was at another. I could not resist. I looked at the friend I was eating with and said, ‘Look at that girl... she is beautiful.’ But above all she is a good person and came into my life at the right time for me.”
