Alexander McQueen unveils frenetic Fall 2012 fashion film

It appears that for Fall/Winter 2012 designers are attempting to outdo each other in the psychedelic stakes, with Alexander McQueen the latest label to unveil a trippy '80s inspired campaign video.

Earlier this week Kenzo made a splash with its frenetic, rainbow colored pre-Fall 2012 video directed by Quentin Jones, and now Alexander McQueen has unleashed its equally mesmerizing Fall 2012 fashion film starring Finnish model Suvi Koponen, with exploding colors and futuristic visor sunglasses.

The video was directed by David Sims, known for his work with the likes of Balmain, Alexander Wang and Isabel Marant.

The prevalence of surrealist fashion films for Fall/Winter 2012 follows from the success of the James Lima-directed Prada Spring/Summer 2012 campaign, which featured a mash-up of "found" footage, scenes from 1950s movies and dancing models Jessica Stam, Ginta Lapina, and Lindsey Wixson.
