"American Sniper" shoots for top again

4 Feb – "American Sniper" shoots for top again as it stays at the number one spot on the U.S. and Singapore weekend box office charts for 29 January to 1 February. Over in Malaysia, "The Last: Naruto the Movie" takes first place on its opening weekend.

"American Sniper" takes another week's top spot with its weekend gross of USD30.6 million, while new release "Project Almanac" takes second place with USD8.3 million. "Paddington" does not budge from third place, managing to gross USD8.2 million last weekend.

In Malaysia, Japanese animated film "The Last: Naruto the Movie" debuts at number one while last week's third place, "Suamiku Encik Perfect 10", moves up to number two. Opening at third is Jason Statham's new movie "Wild Card".

Over in Singapore, "American Sniper" still has its hold on the top spot. Johnny Depp-starrer "Mortdecai" opens at number two while "The Imitation Game" moves up a spot to number three.

Other movies that opened in Malaysia last weekend are "Project Almanac", "The Wedding Ringer", "Puaka Balai Gombak", "The Couple", "The Water Diviner", "Stand By Me Doraemon", "Isai", "Khamoshiyan" and "Hawaizaada".

Also opening in Singapore last weekend are "Isai", "Khamoshiyan", "Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe", "Strange Magic", "Project Almanac", "Gangnam Blues", "Inherent Vice", "Thottal Thodarum", "Big Eyes", "Ghost Coins", "The Wedding Ringer", "Vice" and "Baby".
