21 Feb – A trip to the doctors after feeling ill the previous day had led Ami Suzuki to stay home, as she had been diagnosed with chicken pox recently.

According to Tokyo Hive, 30-year-old Suzuki had Tweeted that she was feeling ill on the 15th of February and went to see a doctor the next day.

She was diagnosed with chicken pox and was forced to cancel her performance in the "Genki na Nihon Exhibition" in Beijing on the 19th, which was a special event to commemorate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Japan.

Suzuki's performance was among the list of events happening during the exhibition which included a live performance by AKB48, anime songs, nursery rhymes, a Japanese drum concert, a fashion show and a Hello Kitty event.
