China's April trade surplus US$16.7 billion; down 1 percent amid weaker global demand

BEIJING - China's government says the country's April trade surplus was US$16.7 billion.

The figure reported Monday by China's customs agency was down about 1 percent from the same month last year amid slowing global demand for Chinese goods.
