Black Desert’s final closed beta attracts 230,000 signups

Longtime readers of this site will know that we’re very excited about Korean developer Pearl Abyss’s upcoming MMORPG Black Desert, even if we still don’t have any information on when the English version is coming.

But we’re not the only ones interested; the game’s publisher Daum has announced that the final closed beta test of the game, which began on Wednesday, attracted more than 230,000 signups in the limited window between September 2nd and 9th when interested gamers could sign up. That’s an impressive number, especially considering that the previous round of closed beta testing only attracted around 100,000 signups.

Of course, not all of the 230,000 who signed up are actually getting to play the game; only about 50,000 lucky fans are enjoying that privilege right now. But the game will go public in Korea later this year, and with its overseas publishers already arranged for, there’s hope we’ll see an English release somewhat soon, too!

  • Black Desert overseas publishers confirmed, English version coming soon?

Pearl Abyss has confirmed that Daum will indeed be publishing the gorgeous Korean MMORPG Black Desert in North America and Europe.
