Black Eyed Peas to perform at Sultan of Johor’s coronation party – Bernama

Black Eyed Peas, the American super hip-hop group and Korean girl pop artist, T-Ara are coming to Johor to perform in a free, four-day music festival in Danga Bay, as part of the celebrations to commemorate the Sultan of Johor's coronation.

Other hot names in the music industry, such as Indonesia's Rossa, Korea's Sistar, Taiwanese Fuying & Sam, as well as legendary local artistes like Sheila Majid, Jacklyn Victor, Penny Tai, Shila Amzah and Nicole will also entertain visitors in an open-air concert, beginning March 26.

In a statement today, Johor Tourism, Domestic Trade and Consumerism Committe chairman Datuk Tee Siew Kiong said the shows were organised by the Johor Tourism Department, in association with Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd.

This is the first time that the Black Eyed Peas, which has sold an estimated 76 million records and is one of the world's best-selling groups of all time, will perform in Johor.

Fergie and will.i.am are among the members of the group.

In addition, a series of other events like F3000 Power Boat Race, Cycleton Around Johor, Beach Sports, Boats Floats Procession and spectacular fireworks will also be held in conjunction with the celebrations.

The F3000 Power Boat Race will see participation from seven countries, including Brazil, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and Singapore.

As for Cycleton Around Johor, which is also being organised for the first time here, 20 teams will participate.

Another highlight will be the Boats Floats display and procession around Danga Bay, which will showcase 23 beautiful boat floats, including one from each Johor district, as well as from public and private corporations.

The celebration will end with a spectacular fireworks display.

Sultan Johor Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar is expected to give away the Coronation Cup to the champion of all events on March 29. – Bernama, March 16, 2015.
