21 Feb – After Block B was criticised for their lack of sensitivity during an interview in Thailand, the group released an official apology to the public and group leader Zico even shaved his head to show remorse.
According to Soompi website, Block B's company, Brand New Stardom recently released a statement saying that the company is "seriously considering changing Block B's free-spirited concept."
Brand New Stardom also revealed, "The members have cried from this first-time experience and are deeply regretful and are reflecting on their actions. Zico, who especially feels responsible as the leader, has gone through with the head shaving."
As an effort to put an end to this controversy, the members of Block B posted official apology letters one by one on their official fan site on 20 February.
P.O stated, "We blurred the boundary between freedom and responsibility. I apologize to the Thai people and fans. I am sorry for damaging our national image and other Korean artists' reputation with such behaviour."
Group leader, Zico apparently shaved his head to show his sincerity and wrote, "I am deeply ashamed of my ignorance in current affairs and failure in understanding the severity of the incident and flood victims' sorrows as an adult."
U-Gwon also apologised, stating, "I feel ashamed of my insensitive and irresponsible behaviour and comments made in Thailand." B-Bomb commented, "I deeply apologise for failing to show the most basic humanity and courtesy in my words and actions, and not being able to correct fellow team mates' behaviours as an older member."
Meanwhile, Tae-il wrote, "We've been called 'too free-spirited and liberal' before and we thought of such label only as a positive feedback and failed to acknowledge what these words might mean otherwise. When I revisited the video clip, I felt ashamed of how disrespectful we were. Now I understand why people say 'Block B is a disgrace to your country.'" Park Kyung and Jae-hyo also added, "We did not realise the seriousness of the situation and were very disrespectful. We promise to be more mature and humble in the future."
On 19 February, a video interview of Block B's visit to Thailand last January started circulating online and has been getting negative responses for the behaviour displayed. During the interview, Block B was seen showing a bad attitude, as they yelled and sat vigorously clapping.
