A British couple are reportedly taking their dream of a perfect marriage so seriously that they have decided to tour the world and 'test' wedding ceremonies in no less than 30 countries.

Alex Pelling and Lisa Grant, who have already tied the knot in Manchester, are set to jet off on a two-year trip around the planet in a bid to find the ideal destination for their 'official' wedding, reports the Daily Mail.

To do so, they are planning to visit each continent and organise a wedding ceremony in 30 different countries, following local traditions. The cost of their holiday? A reported S$100,400.

The groom, who's originally from Hull, commented: "I have sold the car body repair shop I own and our home so we can go on this trip.

"We are leaving for Toronto today and we will have three months to set up a traditional Canadian wedding. We are then planning to carry out wedding ceremonies in every country we visit, whether large or small."

The happy couple are heading to places including India, China and South Africa.

Alex added: "Whether we cut the cake under the canvas of a Berber tent in Morocco, or share our first dance under a remote waterfall in Tahiti, we're going to blog and share our experience with the world.

"We're even planning to have a wedding onboard one of our flights, creating our very own romantic version of the Mile High Club.

"What we are doing is rather ad hoc and we are just playing it by ear. It is like "try before you buy".

Lisa, 29, and Alex, 31, are planning to go back to their favourite wedding place once they've visited all the locations, so they can get married again 'for real'.

The pair, who have been friends for 11 years, became a couple three years ago, when Lisa moved to Manchester.
