A SingTel mioTV football presenter reportedly bit his co-host in the face in the middle of a live screening of an English Premier League match in Singapore on 1 May.

According the The Straits Times, SingTel mioTV hosts Soo Kui Jien and Patrick Kinghorn were hosting the live screening of a Premier League showdown between Manchester United and Arsenal at Timbre @ The Arts House, when Kinghorn apparently walked up to Soo and bit him on the face during half-time.

Soo, 38, had been speaking to patrons at the time, conducting lucky draws with EPL fans present.

A police spokesman said they received a call for assistance at about 10.45 pm. It's understood that the caller said someone had been bitten on the face, reported the paper.

The case has been classified as voluntarily causing hurt. Legal action is believed to have started.

Both Soo and event organiser SingTel have declined comment while Kinghorn could not be reached.

Soo and Kinghorn co-host a weekly English Premier League show on SingTel mioTV's football channel but the pair, it appears, do not get along.

Kinghorn is the anchor presenter on the channel but he has not been seen on air in the last few weeks.

He is apparently no stranger to controversy. An article published in 2009 reveals how Kinghorn and his then co-presenter on British radio show talkSPORT, Tony Cascarino, fell out on-air when Kinghorn accused Cascarino of "chasing that 21-year-old around the office".

It ended up with Cascarino punching Kinghorn in the face and the pair brawled on the office sofa until Cascarino was pulled off Kinghorn.

Soo, who usually goes by the name of Jien, is a popular Malaysian television host who has acted in a number of local Singapore sitcoms. He is married to MTV VJ Sarah Tan.
