Oops..PM Lee just "apologized" yesterday and said that they will not make same mistakes again..and we have floods AGAIN? There goes his empty promises yet AGAIN.

Sigh! I'm sick of word twisting "we'll try to" this and "we'll try to" that. Just empty words that don't materialize.

With yesterday's "apolo----" show, it just goes to prove 1 thing i.e. OPPOSITION Voices are important as it helped to wake those who are still sleeping since 5yrs ago.

It proves to us that we MUST vote for OPPOSITIONS in order for our concerns to be addressed.

I'm sorry...after spending more than $2 billion of your money on flood alleviation scheme....still flood... We shall have a better scheme next time. !!!

Look at the US, Aus, etc. The weather is indeed weird, and is costing billions of $ in damages. Singapore not so bad by comparison
      • Terence 1 year 0 months ago
But are the ministers in US, Aus, etc. paid the world-highest multi-millions dollar salary??? If the PM salary is $4000/mth (i.e. $1000 a week), then ok... no problem...

As what MBT said... $4000/mth is enough to afford a flat... just pay 30 years for it... knn...

Hhhhmmm.....I tot I just heard the PM apologies for the flood & saying about learning the pass mistake & not making the same mistake again...well we still under water evertime its rains heavily...... wonder if there will be any accountability......
      • Alfred E. Neuman 1 year 0 months ago
PM Lee saying sorry for the flood... no lah... he apologising because he gonna spend afew more billions to undo the billions spent creating the flood... so voting PAP means more of taxpayers money goes into the drain... literally.

PAP policy to sub out all contract to sub-con because PAP had greater agenda & trival matter will be sublet to sub-con. They will bid the lowest inorder to get the contract thus to maximise profit they will either get poorly skilled FW or go less round on maintenance. Its cheap but not better.
      • . 1 year 0 months ago
NOT cheaper, they are demanding the same for the same cost of living while they are here, most awaiting PR.
    • Serene  •  1 year 0 months ago
wah I have aged 50 years already! like what PAP says... a flood only happens ONCE EVERY 50 YEARS!!!
    • Buddha Dhama  •  1 year 0 months ago
Singaporean nation spend about 75 Million dollars a year paid to all PAP ministers and yet they can't solve this problem.

Weather issue is caused by extreme rain during a short period of time. The main cause of it is just simply the weather pattern all over the world has changed. Green house effect is the cause. Not God but man's greed and stupidity

looks like heaven have open eyes! was on my way back and this taxi uncle was cursing and swearing, suddenly he told me actually he hope orchard road will flood and also few other area, indirectly hinting that it will create more headlines, thus creating some advantages for the opposition.
came back drench this afternoon, saw my EC GRC PAP candidate LSS at my void deck, quickly call my mom from downstairs asking her not to open the door, this is the 4th time i see him in my area, twice at the market, twice knocking my door, what does this indicate? desperate? i have been a staunch PAP supporter all along, and until recent years i realise something is very wrong,i regretted.
now that i have learn my lesson,i decided to do something for the opposition (WP) in my area,i manage to convince my mother to vote opp.i showed her some short video of Dr Chee speaking in hokkien,LTK,CST,SL,KJ etc.. not only that,i also manage to convince some coffee kaki uncle and exlain to them many things abt politics and voting is secret, will keep going.
come 7th may,i really hope for miracle b'cos i am not so optimistic but i hope everyone staying in EC do our part, who knows? lets do it........

Feel very sorry for the PAP. Things are heading in a different direction. Favouring the opposition.
    • WindsOfChange  •  1 year 0 months ago
Sorry lor, dun think they will apologise lor...Whats there to apologise? They previously said, Singapore should learn....that this little thing is not called flood, compared with other countries, their flood is worst. This is only a small issue. Dun make such a big huha about it. Just shut up and vote for me or you gonna regret this forever. No upgrading for all of you. (Singapore is such a small country, need so many "talents" to perhaps flood everything and everywhere ma) Flood Singapore with ERP's, FT's and in turn flood the transport systems, and then flood their pockets with money.

First you see Lightning then you hear Thunder
Then came rain, start to cry
      Surely Flood lah
      Go and buy boat

I really think Government should really set budget out to improve on this situation while improving our infrastructure (e.g. upgrading?). I realise flooding happens more frequently during building of circle line. I think the concrete below is not helping this issue either. Can you also recall the majot Nicoll highway accident which made headlines ? It is also a major lapse in safety for building MRT.
    • Gus  •  1 year 0 months ago
      They admitted mistake.
How Come Orchard Road Flood last year?
Drain under Orchard is really big that even a truck can drive thru.
BOI state that debris was the cause. Water is a very strong force.
      That mean BOI remain inconclusive.
      Somebody somewhere must have blundered.
Somebody will have to answer... sooner or later.
