Barely a month into his new role, Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew was spotted on a MRT train during morning peak hour on Monday.

According to The Straits Times, a commuter by the name of Nat saw Minister Lui on the train at 7:45am. Nat then took a photo and posted it on STOMP.

"I snapped pictures of him on the train this morning at 7.45am, on the North South line heading towards Jurong East at Bukit Gombak. Welcome to the crowd!" said Nat.

Previously, the Minister was seen taking the bus on 17 May and a photo of him was posted online.

Most Netizens responded positively to his attempts to understand what commuters experience daily but some prefer to withhold their judgement.

"Wayang or not, at least he is making the effort to get a feel for himself (about) the situation on the ground. Let's wait and see if there will be any improvement to our transportation system," commented panda_hippo on hardwarezone.
