Clip of two ‘uncles’ fighting on bus goes viral
Right after a video of a young and old woman arguing over a 'reserved' seat on the train went viral last week, another clip of fighting on public transport has made its rounds on social media.
This time, it happened on a bus, and involved two elderly men who are believed to also have gotten into a scuffle over a seat.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the incident happened in January, but that the video only started gaining traction when it was recently shared with citizen journalism website STOMP.
Since then, various versions of the video were uploaded to YouTube, with the first one receiving more than 100,000 views by Saturday.
The almost two-minute long clip appears to occur in the evening, and begins with the two old men at the rear exit of the SBS bus, pushing and swearing at each other.
One of them appears to be alighting from the bus when the scuffle breaks out. Their confrontation descends into punches and kicks, and the second man breaks away from the first, retreating inside, and the first charges back in, challenging him to follow him back out to continue the fight.
As the bus driver stands up to intervene, the man inside the bus calls him over and tries to explain that he rushed in to take up seats that were vacated by two other passengers.
When the driver said he would call the police, the man urged him to do so, shouting at him to call the police as he turned to the first man to try to reason with him.
Right after the argument seemed to subside, the first man turns to passengers in the back, continuing his complaint. Injuries to his right eye and lip become apparent but another passenger in the background tells him to "shut up".
According to transport operator SBS Transit, assistance was sought from the police in January when the incident happened.
