Cannes luxury hotels registered 94% occupancy during film fest

The occupancy rate of Cannes's luxury hotels throughout the film festival (May 16-27) reached 94.4 percent, an increase of 4.7 points compared to the same period last year, according to travel research from MKG Hospitality published Thursday.

On average, the amount spent for a room in a hotel on the city's famous Croisette was €981 per night, an increase of 5.8 percent compared to last year.

Film festival goers - particularly celebrities who had a significant presence in Cannes's top-end hotels - paid the most for accommodation on the festival's first night. The average price on May 16 for hotels in this category was €1012.
