You may not be looking your sharpest a few hours after the birth, and you know this will be captured on camera, guaranteed. Even with all the fuss and a probably bombardment of flashes, here's a few quick tips to whipe away the tiredness and instead capture your joy of your baby's arrival.
Mommy Makeup Steps
1. Use tinted moisturizer in place of plain moisturizer. Why? Tinted moisturizer adds luminescence to the skin and coverage in one step eliminating the need for separate moisturizer and foundation steps.2. Add bronzer to the cheek hollows and sweep over your eye lids. Subtle bronzer slims the face and adds a healthy glow and bonus: bronzers pop any eye colour. Try Soap & Glory Solar Powder
3. Brush on a little peachy-pink blush slightly above the apples of the cheek. Placing the blush above the apples of the cheeks avoids the ‘Dolly’ look.4. Line the eyes with an earthy, cool brown shadow. Warm shades will exaggerate tired puffy eyes. Shadow is softer in texture providing a quick and easy application method that is also forgiving with makeup mishaps.
5. Curl lashes and apply 2 coats of mascara to the top layer of lashes. If you have panda eyes, avoid mascara on the bottom lashes, which only adds to the dark circles.6. Awaken tired eyes by applying a champagne hue onto the inner corners of your eyes and arch of your brow bones, which both lifts and brightens.
Hair Tricks1. Uber tired? Pull hair into a ponytail between your occipital bone and crown; instant awakening facelift!
2. Go from frumpy and frazzled to tousled Yummy Mummy! Spritz hair with hairspray, wrap in a bun and leave up while doing your make up – loosen & shake it baby! Hair will have a great beachy texture. Spray to hold.
3. Bed head with no time to shampoo? Dry shampoos not only minimize oily roots but will give great longer-lasting lift.
