Just as the final touches of its the four-year makeover are put in place, Changi Airport's Terminal 1 (pictured) is preparing for yet another round of renovations.
The upcoming refurbishment will see the arrival hall on the first floor of the four-storey facility expanded outwards to accommodate more passengers, from the previous 21 million to 24 million.
The Changi Airport Group (CAG) revealed that the basement will also be redeveloped, along with the road separating the building from the carpark.
Moreover, there are plans to connect the main terminal building to a new multi-storey complex to be located at the terminal's open-air carpark. However, the plan for this upgrade is yet to be finalised, said Ivan Tan, a spokesman for the CAG.
Construction works for the renovation are scheduled to commence in April next year.
