Chris Pratt eyed for "Magnificent Seven"

6 Dec – From a galaxy guardian to a cowboy ninja Viking to a gunfighter, Chris Pratt is grabbing all the action roles.

According to MovieWeb, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor is in early talks with MGM for a role in the remake of 1960's "The Magnificent Seven".

If the deal is sealed, Pratt will be playing a character named Farraday. The remake is set to be directed by Antoine Fuqua, with Denzel Washington already confirmed to star. The original "The Magnificent Seven" by John Sturgess was loosely based on Akira Kurosawa's 1954 "Seven Samurai", and told the story of seven gunmen hired to protect a small agricultural village in Mexico from a group of bandits.

It looks like 2015 is gearing up to be a busy year for Pratt. Just recently, the "Guardians" actor tweeted that he is going to be the lead in "Cowboy Ninja Viking".

The runner-up of People Magazine's Sexiest Men of 2014 started his acting career fourteen years ago, appearing in such movies as "Bride Wars", "Jennifer's Body" and "The Delivery Man", but only achieved leading man status in 2014.

This year, not only did Pratt get to voice main character Emmet Brickowski in "The Lego Movie", he also finally had his cinematic breakout as the lead actor in the highly successful "Guardians of the Galaxy". The movie opened at number one in North American cinemas on 1 August 2014 and has gone on to make USD771 million worldwide. "Lego" itself did not do so shabbily as it has grossed USD468 million worldwide since its 7 February release earlier this year.

Pratt will be seen next in 2015's "Jurassic World", due out in North American cinemas on 12 June 2015, while "Magnificent Seven" is also expected to strut onto the big screen in 2015.
