Clip joint: Marriage proposals

It's quite a challenge finding new topics for Clip joint – this week's is the 227th instalment in the series, and most subjects you can think of have already been covered in one way or another.

And so to the Twitter hive mind for suggestions, where we received the following:

@Framescourer

In case you've not already had it, perhaps it's a day for clips of girls proposing to guys?

A great idea, but would there be enough examples? All we could think of off the top of our heads was the 2010 film Leap Year, in which Amy Adams sets about travelling to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on 29 February. But even in that film's proposal scene, it's not her doing the proposing.

Are there any other films featuring women proposing to men? Let us know. But to make this Clip joint a little easier, let's extend it to proposals in general. Here's Adam Sandler proposing to Drew Barrymore in schmaltzy style in The Wedding Singer.

And, doing things in slightly less showy fashion, here's Rocky Balboa's sweet proposal to Adrian in Rocky II. "What do you think you're doing for the next 40 or 50 years?"

Over to you. Can you think of any better on-screen proposals? Let us know below, ideally with a link to a YouTube clip. We'll pick out our favourite of your suggestions early next week.
