Clinical training for global medical professionals launched

SINGAPORE: Singapore General Hospital, International SOS and the Duke—NUS Graduate Medical School have signed an agreement to share Singapore’s best practices in emergency medical care and general health to medical professionals working across borders.

SGH, in alliance with International SOS, will develop a specially—developed curriculum for medical personnel from International SOS.

The four—year "Programme in General & Emergency Medical Care" will be quality—assured by Duke University and Duke—NUS.

The first—year intake of 50 students will have to do monthly assignments, annual practical training attachments at SGH, together with clinical research under mentorship of the teaching staff of Duke—NUS.

The annual intake will rise to about 250 students in three years.

At the end of every batch, the alliance partners will award these medical professionals with the relevant official recognition. — CNA/de
