Day, Poulter, McDowell among 18 at Tiger's event

Triumphant European Ryder Cup players Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell and Australia's Jason Day are among 18 players who will take part in the World Challenge hosted by Tiger Woods.

The field announced on Wednesday will compete November 29-December 2 for a $1 million top prize at Sherwood Country Club in the 14th annual benefit event for the Tiger Woods Foundation, an outing which is not a PGA tournament.

Woods birdied the final two holes last year to capture the Challenge for a record fifth time, snapping a two-year win drought. He had not won since the Australian Masters in 2009, just before his infamous sex scandal erupted.

Reigning Masters champion Bubba Watson and 2012 US Open winner Webb Simpson lead a US contingent that also includes Woods, Nick Watney, Hunter Mahan, Bo Van Pelt, Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley, Jason Dufner, Dustin Johnson, Zach Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Brandt Snedeker, Steve Stricker and Jim Furyk.

"We are extremely excited about the depth and talent of our field, and are looking forward to another exciting tournament," Woods said.

Woods has won three US PGA titles this year, including the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Memorial and National. Snedeker, Dufner, Mahan and Zach Johnson have each won twice on tour this year.
