Body of 19-year-old man found on Changi Beach

The dead body of a 19-year-old man was recovered from the waters of Changi Beach on Saturday (28 Jan), after being spotted by beachgoers.

An image posted by Facebook user Indra Eth showed the body, clad in a pair of shorts, lying on the beach near Carpark 6.

Indra posted that he had been approached by two men who asked if he had seen something floating in the water that “looked like a human arm”.

Indra said he saw it but could not confirm, after which the men approached a group of anglers and later recovered the body. He also said the police had been alerted.

According to media reports, the police were seen speaking to people on the beach on Saturday evening.

The police said they were alerted to the incident at 6pm on Saturday. On arrival, they found the man motionless and he was declared dead by paramedics on the scene.

The case has been classified as unnatural death. Investigations are ongoing.
