Declan Donnelly Is Getting Married TODAY!

Why-aye man, it’s the middle of the wedding season and we’ve only gone and got ourselves a little national treasure getting hitched today.

Declan Donnelly (you know, off of Ant and Dec) is taking his fiancée up the aisle today, and we’re feeling like a proud mother hen about it all.

Yes folks, the long-time singleton (sorry Dec, we know nobody wants to hear those words associated with their own name) is getting ‘wed’ to the frankly LOVELY Ali Astall.

The pair have been mates for absolutely AGES, after having a fleeting romance back in the heady days of 2006 – but remained firm friends for years after.

And just nine months ago, Dec ended up proposing to his pal during filming for 'I’m A Celebrity’ in Australia.

Thankfully there weren’t any celebrities projectile-vomiting nearby at the time.

In news that will surprise pretty much nobody, Dec’s other-other-half Ant McPartlin will be Best Man today, whilst the service itself will be taking place in – SURPRISE SURPRISE – Newcastle.

Oh, and Dec’s brother, Father (!) Dermott Donnelly will be officiating over it all in St. Mary’s Cathedral, in the heart of the city.

Blessed be.

A friend told The Sun that: “I It felt right for him to go back to Newcastle because Dec is such a proud Geordie. Dec always wanted to get married before he turned 40, which happens next month.”

“The fact that he’s waited so long to marry shows how serious he is about marriage vows, but he has absolutely no doubts that Ali is The One.”

And whilst it’ll be presumably packed to the rafters with close friends and family, lots of Dec’s showbiz pals will be in attendance today, including Holly Willoughby, Fearne Cotton, Tess Daly and Vernon Kay, Leigh Francis, Philip Schofield and Paddy McGuinness.

Honestly, it’s like a 'Who’s Who’ at ITV, isn’t it?

One famous friend who won’t be attending though, is the Dark Lord himself, Simon Cowell. He told The Sun: “I don’t know if I can go but I’ve been invited. I’m very happy for him.”

Oh well Si, we’re sure he’ll cope without you.

Anyhoo, congrats guys! Here’s hoping the guests will be treated to an acapella version of ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rumble’ at the reception.
