Marseille's missing Diarra surfaces

Marseille midfielder Alou Diarra, absent without leave from pre-season training, is expected back at the Velodrome on Saturday, a source at the French club indicated on Thursday.

On Wednesday Marseille's new coach Elie Baup said that he had had no news from the player two days after the resumption of training.

"At the moment I can say that he hasn't been here for the first two days when he should have been. Every day he has been marked down as absent," Baup told a news conference.

The manager added that all the players had signed a form saying that they would be back for pre-season training on July 16.

According to the club's source Baup has since been in contact with Diarra by telephone.

Diarra was in France's Euro 2012 squad for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine last month.
