Kuala Lumpur (The Star/ANN) - Two private college students who had displayed an alternative flag at the Merdeka eve celebration last week have been detained at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters here.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the two, aged 24 and 26, surrendered at 3.15pm and are expected to be released on police bail after having their statements recorded.
The two are being investigated under Section 9(1) of the Sedition Act.
The two youths were accompanied by their lawyers and up to press time, the duo have yet to be released.
SAC Ku said that to date, six of the 11 individuals identified as part of the fiasco during the Janji Demokrasi protest have surrendered after photographs of the individuals were published in the newspapers.
