All eight survivors injured in the tragic accident which claimed 37 lives in Genting Highlands, who were admitted to the Selayang Hospital yesterday, are reported to be stable.

Selayang Hospital director Dr Siti Zaleha Mohd Salleh said they will undergo operations and it may take a week to complete all the medical procedures.

"Three are critical, while five are semi-critical but all of them are now stable," she told reporters when met at the hospital in Kuala Lumpur last night.

She said one of the victims, Rashidah Buyah, 50, from Bangladesh, was the mother of two other survivors from the bus, Raawnok Arefin, 14, and Rezyan Arefin, 24.

"There were four family members on board the bus, but one of her sons was sent to another hospital," she said.

"The other survivors were also identified by their respective families," she said.

The eight survivors admitted to the hospital comprised three Malaysians, two Indonesians and three Bangladeshis. – Bernama, August 22, 2013.
