Iranian Pro League leaders Esteghlal have confirmed Iran international midfielder Mojtaba Jabbari will miss the next few weeks due to a knee injury.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who scored both goals in last week's 2-0 top-of-the-table victory over Tractor Sazi, missed Thursday's Tehran derby loss to Persepolis due to the knee problem.
Esteghlal have now confirmed Jabbari has a meniscus problem - which has a history with - and will miss several months week of action.
The injury definitely rules Jabbari out of Esteghlal's AFC Champions League play-off match against Zob Ahan on February 11.
Reports suggest Jabbari is also unlikely to be fit in time for Iran's World Cup qualifier against Qatar on February 29. Team Melli have already qualified for the fourth round of qualifying through Asia.
