Here is a selection of the next weeks' fashion events around the globe.

39th Baselworld
March 24-31
Basel, Switzerland

The biggest watch tradeshow in the world is the place to observe the trends for the coming year. More than 100,000 international visitors and some 2000 companies are again expected to attend the expo that receives thousands of jewelers and watchmakers from brands like Rolex, Chopard, Tissot, Patek Philippe and Bvlgari.

Balenciaga and Spain

March 26 - September 4
San Francisco, CA, USA

The exhibition at the de Young museum of fine arts examines the influence of Spain on the work of haute couture master Cristóbal Balenciaga. The impact of Spanish culture, history, and traditions is explored through the recurring themes in Balenciaga's oeuvre and organized in the exhibition in six sections: Spanish Art, Regional Dress, The Spanish Court, Religious Life and Ceremony, the Bullfight, and Dance.

22nd Mercedes Benz Russian Fashion Week

March 31 - April 5
Moscow, Russia

The biggest fashion week in Eastern Europe will see the collections of local designers as well as a special showcase by London-based designer Marios Schwab as part of an ongoing partnership with the British Fashion Council.

2nd Reykjavik Fashion Festival
March 31 - April 3
Reykjavik, Iceland

The second edition of the festival seeks to promote Iceland's unique creative talent through a mixture of fashion, design and music at venues around the city. For night one, emerging designers are scheduled to show their creations, including Vera Thordardottir, whose designs have been worn by Lady Gaga, while night two will play host to the country's more established brands such as Andersen & Lauth.
