Flash floods hit parts of Singapore
Flash floods hit parts of Singapore in the early afternoon of Friday after a torrential downpour in the morning. In a Facebook post at about 1:30pm, PUB, Singapore's national water agency, said that due to heavy rain flash floods occurred at Upper Serangoon Road, making two lanes impassable to traffic. Users on Twitter also reported flooding in Bishan, Selegie, Thomson and Bukit Timah. At 1:45pm, PUB said that flash floods had been reported near KJE slip road towards Woodlands Road, but by 2pm, the agency said the waters there had subsided. At 2:45pm, the flood at Serangoon had subsided as well and lanes had become passable to traffic, PUB said.
