Giant sinkhole causes highway collapse in US

A giant sinkhole, over 60 metres long and the size of four football fields, has caused the collapse of a state highway in the US state of Ohio.

The government's Department of Transportation thinks dredging for sand may have eroded land at the edge of a pond and it could be months before permanent repairs can be made.

Meanwhile, the sinkhole is causing major traffic delays and detours in Ohio's Dover Township.
