Woman falls from pedestrian bridge onto KPE

The woman who was found lying face down along the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) on Saturday morning has been identified as a maid from Myanmar, revealed The Straits Times (ST).

The 27-year-old had fallen from an overhead bridge near the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) exit after reportedly running away from a nearby maid agency, wrote ST.

She was taken unconscious to the high dependency unit in Tan Tock Seng Hospital after the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call at 11:05am, said ST.

SCDF said she had a broken right arm and left leg, but could not confirm if she sustained any serious head injuries from the fall.

Witnesses told Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao that the girl, who was wearing a blue top and blue jeans, landed on the road shoulder after having been perched on a flower bed of the pedestrian bridge just moments before.

The polices are investigating the incident.
