Coming soon, California readies its IDEA World Fitness Convention, while the crowds head to Colorado for the three-day Wanderlust festival.

Now in its 30th year, the IDEA World Fitness Convention is one of the largest and oldest trade events for fitness professionals. More than 5,000 influential fitness and wellness professionals from 65 nations will participate in hundreds of sessions devoted to new fitness trends. After this event, fitness centers globally will be introducing new classes, techniques and products.

Wanderlust

This annual festival is all about yoga, music, and nature. Days are for downward dogs with 40+ yoga instructors including a play lounge, hoop dance, hikes, and meditation. Nights are hedonistic dance parties featuring top musical acts and DJs. This year's headliners include Rodney Yee and Seane Corne and musical acts Ziggy Marley and Ani DiFranco. Sister events happen later this summer include California's Squaw Valley on July 26-29 and Whistler, BC, on August 23-26.

Yoga Journal Conference: San Diego

Reebok CrossFit Games 2011

The CrossFit Games event is the final competition in a series in which the world's fittest, who have triumphed in regionals and sectionals around the world, come together to compete for the grand prize. The first place male and female individual winners will each receive $250,000. CrossFit is about metabolic conditioning and combines a series of intense, fast workouts without machines for core strengthening and conditioning including weightlifting, sprinting, and gymnastics.

Devotion, music, and yoga are on tap at this unique international English-language festival in Northern Italy. The program combines hatha yoga, DJs, dancing, and chanting; a sister event happens in London on October 27 and 29.
