Indians aren't polytheists and not all Pakistanis are extremists: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Islamabad, Mar 13 (ANI): Indian spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who is on a three day visit to Pakistan, has refuted the notion that Hindus are polytheists and a majority of Pakistanis are extremists. "Majority of Pakistanis see Hindus as polytheists and majority Hindus see all Pakistanis as extremists while both these concepts are wrong, Indians are monotheists and not all Pakistanis are extremists," The News quoted Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, as saying. "By taking away the complications associated with governmental policies and political pressures, Aman Ki Asha is not only working to clear these misunderstandings but is also achieving political and regional reformation between the peoples of these countries," he added. He further said that although religious extremism also existed in India and the 'Senas' might portray a rather violent face, yet it had very bleak following among the people. This is Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's second visit, the first one was in July 2004, when he became the first Hindu spiritual leader from India to visit Pakistan. Shankar believes that spirituality alone can bring the hearts and minds of people together, and mend differences. A true example is the inauguration of The Art of Living Peace Centre in Islamabad, by Sri along with Dr Paul Bhatti, Advisor to PM for Interfaith Harmony. He will visit places of religious significance, including the Badshahi Mosque, to send out the message of universal spirituality. (ANI)
