Italian Antonella Monzoni receives top Austrian photo award

Italian photographer Antonella Monzoni and her French colleagues Julie Glassberg and Jacques Borgetto on Friday won the Vienna International Photo Awards for 2012 documentary photography.

The shortlisted photographers and the three winners will take part in the VIPA's final exhibition during the European month of photography, at the Kunstnetzwerk gallery in Vienna from November 15 to December 15.

The top 4,000-euro ($4,900) prize of the VIPA's first edition went to Monzoni, while Glassberg received the second 2,000-euro prize and Borgetto the third with 1,000 euros.
