Jim Carrey joins star-studded cannibal movie

20 Mar – Jim Carrey moves from comedy to cannibalistic horror? The "Dumb and Dumber" star will reportedly be joining the cast of an upcoming Jason Momoa-led cannibal film called "The Bad Batch".

Also going along on the ride will be "John Wick" actor Keanu Reeves and "The Book Of Life" voice cast Diego Luna, according to The Wrap.

Ana Lily Amirpour is set to direct the film, where Carrey will be playing the role of The Hermit, while Reeves will be playing The Dream. Momoa will be taking on the role of a man named Jimmy. "The Divergent Series: Insurgent" actress, Suki Waterhouse, has been cast as the female lead Arlen opposite Momoa's Miami Man.

"The Bad Batch" is a post-apocalyptic story set in a wasteland in Texas. A community of cannibals lives in said wasteland. However, it also tells of the love story of a cannibal named Miami Man.

Carrey was last seen in 2014's "Dumb and Dumber To", which grossed USD169 million worldwide despite bad reviews. Reeves found success last year as the titular star of "John Wick", an action movie that made USD78.7 million the world over. Luna voiced Manolo Sanchez in 2014's "Book of Life", worldwide it collected USD97.4 million.

Waterhouse can currently be seen as Marlene on "Insurgent", whereas Momoa has landed himself a role as DC's "Aquaman".
