    The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) has stopped the sale of a brand of tapioca balls commonly used to make Taiwan bubble tea in Singapore. In a Facebook post on Monday, the AVA said it had informed the local importers of Sunright brand tapioca balls -- commonly known as "pearls" -- to withdraw them from sale.

Justin Bieber’s third studio album Believe is topping charts around the world.

Justin Bieber excitedly revealed that it had hit number one in Ireland, Australia, Sweden and Taiwan and added that Believe was his first album to reach the milestone on the UK’s Official Album Chart.

He tweeted, “so Ireland..Australia..Sweden...Taiwan...and others are starting to have #BELIEVE come back at #1!! thank u!! More to come!! but...” and added “...all the experts said WE wouldnt come in at #1 in the UK...I have never had a #1 album there...but u all BELIEVED.”

Lady Gaga has become the first Twitter user to exceed 26 million followers. She told her fans that the inside of her head looked more like a marine animal than a brain after a recent doctor’s appointment.

“Went for an MRI. No harm from the concussion but it appears my brain is just water and a large floating jellyfish,” she said. The singer was accidentally hit on the head with a pole during a performance in New Zealand earlier in the month.

Additional follower milestones for the week include Rihanna at 21 million fans and Google’s YouTube account at 14 million followers.

Taiwanese actress Dee Hsu raced past 21 million fans on Sina Weibo, China’s Twitter equivalent. Sina Weibo’s sixth most popular user Zhao Wei hit a new record of 18 million followers.  

Third party estimates put Twitter at more than 500 million registered users. Sina reported that it had more than 300 million registered users on Sina Weibo in February 2012.
