Juventus' Fabio Quagliarella resumes training wearing protective mask

Juventus coach Antonio Conte has received some encouraging news from the treatment table as Fabio Quagliarella has returned to the training pitch after a brief spell on the sidelines due to a facial injury.

The Italy international sustained a fractured cheekbone in Juventus' 1-0 Serie A win over Lecce on January 8 and successfully underwent surgery the day after.

Quagliarella had since been out of action, but the Bianconeri have now announced on their official website that the versatile attacker has resumed training wearing a protective mask.

The forward participated in the group warm-up before conducting individual work on dribbling and shooting. Quagliarella then rejoined the rest of the squad for a possession exercise, but missed out on the final part of the session which focused exclusively on tactics.

It's not yet clear whether Conte will include Quagliarella in his match squad for the upcoming Serie A game versus Atalanta on Saturday.
