Kaibutsu-kun Anime gets 3D movie treatment

10 Aug - Anime turned drama "Kaibutsu-kun" starring Ohno Satoshi, will be given the 3D movie treatment according to a report by Tokyohive website. The movie has been slotted for a tentative 26 November release and will also be released in 2D.

The drama which ran from April to June of 2010, tells the story of Kaibutsu-kun, the prince of Kaibutsu Land who was sent to the human world by his father along with his attendants, Dracula, Wolfman, and Franken in order to fix the prince's foul temperament.

The drama received positive feedbacks and it has been announced that "Kaibutsu-kun" will also be receiving a special episode in the autumn with a story that will tie in to the movie.

This film adaptation will be about Kaibutsu-kun and his friends getting lost in the "Kingdom of Curry" with filming held in some locations in India. The movie will be directed by Nakamura Yoshihiro and many of the original cast from the drama including Ohno Satoshi, Yashima Norito, Ueshima Ryuhei (from comedienne group Dacho Club), and Choi Hong Man will be reprising their roles in the movie.
