Kate Middleton Wears Blue Tweed To Honour The Scott-Amundsen Centenary Race Today

As the Queen’s Jubilee approaches, as well as their first wedding anniversary, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a diary packed with royal appointments. Yesterday we saw Prince William and Kate Middleton at the London première of 'African Cats', for which the DoC chose to wear a chic Matthew Williamson number, and today the couple are attending another swanky reception — and they've just arrived! *squeals*

Kate Middleton Wears Blue Tweed To Honour The Scott-Amundsen Centenary Race Today

Kate and Wills are at Goldsmiths' Hall in London to honour the Scott-Amundsen Centenary Race to the South Pole, which raised funds for the British Legion. Kate looks tres ladylike in a blue tweed jacket and matching knee-length skirt with fringed trim, accessorised with colour-coordinated heels and her blue Anya Hindmarch clutch.

As a patron, the Prince met the two teams of soldiers who marched through the frozen wastes for the challenge in aid of the Royal British Legion. 'In a rapidly changing world, it is reassuring to know that two things, at least, haven’t changed this past hundred years,' he said. 'The fortitude of our men and women in uniform, and that very particular British trait of always seeking to push the boundaries.'

Later today, the pair will be attending a reception at the Imperial War Museum, which is debuting its Centenary Commemorations. Bring on the Middy Watch!
