Katie Holmes Hits New York Fashion Week! See The Twitter Reactions To Holmes & Yang

The moment has arrived: Katie Holmes and her partner Jeanne Yang have just presented their fashion line at New York Fashion Week for the first time EVER. Snippets of the Holmes & Yang's Spring Summer 2013 collection are emerging on Twitter [see below] as are snaps of Lady Holmes looking suitably chic wearing a black leather jacket over a ivory silk blouse adorned with a statement necklace to match Jeanne's ensemble.

'In terms of the presentation versus the show, we felt a presentation was more appropriate for the clothes we sell,' Katie told WWD. 'It’s a little more our speed in the way we wanted to go about it, and more of a transition for us from meeting privately with buyers in a hotel room to going right to a big show.' 

And, according to the New York Post, the actress-slash-designer's PR team sent a stern warning to the press who were attending the intimate presentation. In an email sent last night, the agency made it clear that security would be super-tight at the event. 'Please note that tomorrow’s Holmes & Yang presentation is CLOSED to all media, unless you have already been approved by their team,' the statement read. 'No media will be allowed to enter the venue, unless you have a direct invitation from the Holmes & Yang PR team.' Cripes!

So what was the verdict? Style.com writes that the collection was done in a palette of cream, navy, and black, features luxe shirts and trousers. 'Textured silk jumpsuits; motorcycle jackets; leather, silk-lined blazers; and ruched strapless dresses worthy of the red carpet.'

It fits perfectly with the Holmes & Yang aesthetic, which Katie has previously described as 'very simple, with very classic lines. We use a lot of silks and leathers and suedes. This year, we’re excited because we’ve incorporated a lot of new trims. It’s basically pieces that have evolved from basics, but not too far. They’re just nice, well-made luxury items that highlight the woman wearing them.'
