Kelantan 3-1 Sarawak: Red Warriors ends the season with style!

Malaysia Super League champions, Kelantan swept Sarawak aside 3-1 in Kota Bharu. Though without several key players, Kelantan did not have much trouble taming the Crocs as Norfarhan and Badri Radzi finished their chances to finish the match.

Kelantan fans stormed the Sultan Muhammad ke-IV Stadium Kota Bharu to witness the historical moment of Badhri Radzi lifting up the much coveted Super League trophy.

The match started with a balanced play by both teams; Sarawak seemed to be more cautious in their movements. However, Kelantan didn’t wait long to attack Sarawak as Badhri Radzi almost opened the score line but denied by the Crocs goalkeeper.

After finding their rhythm, Sarawak slowly attacked Kelantan and created several chances. Yet, their blunt attacking side forced them to stay goalless until the end of the first half.

The Red Warriors surely did not want to end their wonderful season with a bore draw as they started aggressively in the second period. Kelantan’s captain marvel, Badhri Radzi put his name on the scoresheet to score his eighth goals of the season after succesfully swerving the ball into the net from a free kick.

Norfarhan Muhammad shown his lethal touch as he managed to score two goals. He finished Norhahrul’s pass in the 65th minute with style; lobbing the ball over the keeper. Within two minutes, Badhri Radzi’s through pass was once again brilliantly struck by Norfarhan to make it three-nil.

Hairol Mokhtar gave the Crocs some glimmer of hope as he managed to beat Khairul Fahmi on the 69th minute. A freekick by the Cameroon midfielder, Guy Bwele was successfully headed by Hairol past Kelantan goalkeeper.

Towards the end of the match, S. Subramaniam put Kelantan under pressure as he gave away a penalty kick to Sarawak. Joel Epalle’s penalty however was saved by Khairul Fahmi to end the match with Kelantan’s victory over Sarawak by three goals to one.
