Phnom Penh (The Cambodia Herald/ANN) - The Khmer Rouge tribunal says its trial chamber will hold hearings on Monday and Tuesday next week.
"Parties will be able to make submissions regarding the scope of the trial," the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia said in a statement released Friday.
The Supreme Court Chamber found last week that the trial chamber's previous decision to separate Case 002 into a series of smaller trials was invalid.
Next week's hearings aim "to enable the trial chamber to deal with the current uncertainty surrounding the envisaged scope of proceedings in Case 002, to minimize delay to the ongoing trial in Case 002/01, and otherwise to comply with the Supreme Court Chamber's directions," the statement said.
