Kiwi artist's 'erotic' sex chair set to 'confuse' visitors at museum exhibition

Wellington, May 31 (ANI): An "erotic chair" is set to confuse people when it goes on display at Porirua's Pataka Museum on Friday. Artist Jason Beca claims Alice in Wonderful Land - a solid timber chair, decorated by enlarged, laminated fake 100-dollar bills, a video camera and two armrest monitors - is a work of art that had been constructed to create confusion. "It is made to stop people in their tracks. I build eye candy," Stuff.co.nz quoted Beca, who specialises in producing fantasy toys, as saying. Gallery boss Darcy Nicholas agreed saying, "One of the roles of the artist is to make people think. This work does this." He described it as an artwork that reflected the artist's emotions. (ANI)
