S. Korean Defence Minister blames N. Korea for jamming GPS signals

Seoul, Mar.10 (ANI): South Korean Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin has blamed the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for jamming Global Positioning System (GPS) signals. In a parliamentary session, the minister said that the disruption had originated from the North Korean city of Kaesong and Mount Kumgang, Xinhua reports. Military authorities suspect that North Korea disrupted the GPS signals as a defense tactic, to mess up the ongoing joint military drills between South Korea and the United States. North Korea condemns these drills as preparation for a nuclear war.he South Korean defense department confirms that the signal interference did have some effect on their military artillery units. However, the US military command did not confirm whether the signal jamming interrupted their equipment or exercise in any way. (ANI)
