Kuwait coach Goran Tufegdzic believes 'nothing is impossible' as he prepares for make-or-break World Cup qualifier in South Korea

Kuwait coach Goran Tufegdzic insists his side can pull off an against-the-odds win against South Korea to progress to the fourth and final round of World Cup qualifying in Asia when the two meet in Seoul on February 29.

Al Azraq must win in South Korea to progress, while the Taeguk Warriors know a draw will be enough. South Korea are currently top of the group alongside Lebanon - who host UAE - on 10 points, while Kuwait are on eight points.

South Korea are one of the regional powerhouses but Tufegdzic told Fifa.com nothing was impossible for his side who are ranked 95th in the world.

“We’re in a tricky position going into the last match and we know we have to win,” he said. “But as far as I’m concerned, the fact we have to focus solely on victory is good for us.

"Nothing is impossible, as this qualifying group has shown. Nobody expected the South Koreans to lose in Beirut but they did, and some of the big guns have slipped up in the other groups too.

"We respect Korea Republic but I’m convinced my team can beat them.”

Tufegdzic's side warmed up for the Korea trip with a 1-0 victory over Uzbekistan in a mid-January friendly and the Serbian said there was plenty of positives to take from that game.

“The Uzbeks took the game seriously and that had an effect on our performance,” he said.

“There was a lot for us to take out of the match, especially from an attacking viewpoint. We created quite a few chances and eventually came up with the winner. And we also showed we can play with pace up front, which we’ll need to do against Korea Republic if we’re going to get the result we need.”
