Look like Betty Draper: Estée Lauder announces 'Mad Men' cosmetics

With the season five premiere of international hit TV series Mad Men scheduled to air March 25 on America's AMC, Estée Lauder has announced a makeup line inspired by the 1960s-set show.

Since its launch in 2007 the show's main female characters including Betty Draper (played by January Jones) and Joan Holloway (Christina Hendricks) have inspired a revival of vintage makeup looks such as winged liner and contoured cheekbones.

So it was only a matter of time before a beauty line inspired by the program emerged, and on February 21 Style.com announced Estée Lauder's Mad Men collection.

There are two limited edition beauty lines to be revealed, with the first to debut March 18 on www.esteelauder.com/madmen and www.bloomingdales.com.

Items in the first line include Crème Rouge cream blush in Evening Rose ($40) and a Cherry lipstick ($25) which comes in a gold pouch. The second line is expected to launch for season six in 2013.

The range follows Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant's collaboration with Nailtini on a nail polish line in 2010 and again last year.

The beauty world's love for all things retro can also be noted in global beauty giant MAC's announcement February 22 that it will be launching a worldwide collection inspired by 1950s movie star Marilyn Monroe for later this year.
